Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and grease an 8x8-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the chopped apples with flour, brown sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt, then toss to coat.
- Spread the apple mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add the cold butter and mix until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the crumble topping over the apples in the baking dish.
- Cover the dish and bake for 35 to 40 minutes until the apples are bubbling, then uncover and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes until the topping is golden brown.
- Let cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
