Actually Grillable Vegan Black Bean Burgers

For Serving

burger buns or big iceberg lettuce leaves

ketchup, mustard, vegan mayo, etc.
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Spread the drained black beans on two-thirds of the baking sheet and place the chopped onion and garlic on the remaining third, seasoning them with paprika, cumin, and olive oil.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until the beans are dried and the onions are browned.
- Allow the mixture to cool, then combine the flaxseed, oat flour, barbecue sauce, worcestershire sauce, mashed potato, and seasoning in a food processor.
- Add the cooled beans and onions to the processor and pulse until thick but still chunky.
- Form the mixture into 4 patties about ¾ inch thick and freeze for 20 minutes.
- Preheat the grill to medium and oil the grates.
- Cook the burgers for 6-7 minutes on each side until browned, brushing with barbecue sauce for caramelization.
- Serve hot with buns and toppings.
