Ingredients

The rice

  • 2 cups Koshihikari rice

The water

  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Wash the rice thoroughly until the washing water becomes clear.
  2. Drain the washing water completely.
  3. If using a rice cooker, add the washed rice and water, then follow the rice cooker's instructions.
  4. If using a clay pot or cast iron cooker, add the washed rice and equal amount of water, cover with a lid, and heat over high until boiling.
  5. Once boiling, reduce heat to low-medium and cook for 15 minutes without opening the lid.
  6. Turn off the heat and let the rice sit for an additional 10 minutes.
  7. Open the lid and turn the rice gently from the bottom.
