French Chocolate Silk Pie

Instructions
- Melt the dark chocolate in the microwave in 15-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar and eggs, and cook over low heat, stirring until the mixture passes the back of spoon test.
- Remove from heat and mix in the melted chocolate and vanilla. Allow to cool to room temperature.
- Cream the softened butter in a mixing bowl until fluffy, then add the cooled chocolate mixture.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until thick, then add powdered sugar and beat until peaks form.
- Fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture.
- Pour the filling into the baked pie crust and refrigerate for at least 8 hours.
- Top with homemade whipped cream and chocolate shavings before serving.
