Ingredients

  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips or morsels
  • ¼ cup unrefined virgin coconut oil
  • 2 whole eggs
  • cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • cup almond flour
  • 1 Tbsp coconut flour
  • 3 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips or morsels for topping
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350ºF and line a 9×9-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt ½ cup of chocolate chips and coconut oil in a saucepan over medium-low heat.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, maple syrup, and vanilla extract.
  4. Stir in almond flour, coconut flour, cocoa powder, and sea salt until just combined.
  5. Slowly add the melted chocolate mixture while stirring until combined.
  6. Fold in additional chocolate chips and walnuts, if using.
  7. Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and top with extra chocolate chips and walnuts.
  8. Bake for 18-20 minutes, then cool for 5-10 minutes before cutting into squares.
