Ingredients

The brownies

  • 1 unit egg
  • 1 cup sunflower seed butter (or almond butter)
  • 1 cup coconut sugar (or maple sugar)
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • tsp salt

For greasing

  • as needed unit butter or coconut oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 9"x9" baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk the egg.
  3. Add the nut butter and coconut sugar (or maple sugar) and mix to combine.
  4. Gradually add the cocoa powder, mixing until incorporated.
  5. Add the remaining ingredients: chocolate chips, vanilla, baking soda, and salt, and mix until fully combined.
  6. Spread the mixture into the prepared pan, optionally sprinkling a little salt on top.
  7. Bake in the oven for 14-16 minutes until slightly underdone.
  8. Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting into squares.
