Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and coat a 9"x13" pan with cooking spray.
- In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat and add ground beef and sausage, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Cook the meat for 3 minutes, breaking it into small pieces, then add onion and cook for another 5 minutes until browned.
- Drain excess grease, then add garlic and cook for 30 seconds before adding marinara and tomato sauce, simmering for 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta, egg, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and 1 cup of mozzarella cheese until blended.
- Layer 1/3 of the sauce in the baking pan, followed by half of the cooked ziti, dollops of the ricotta mixture, and 1/3 of the sauce.
- Add another layer of ziti, the remaining sauce, and top with 2 cups of mozzarella cheese.
- Cover and bake for 20 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until bubbly and cheese is melted.
- Sprinkle with parsley and serve.
