Ingredients

The steak

  • 2 pounds flank steak

The marinade

  • cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 sprigs thyme
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Whisk together the marinade ingredients in a small bowl.
  2. Step 2: Place the flank steak in a large bowl and pour the marinade over it, ensuring it's completely coated. Marinate in the fridge for at least 10 minutes, or up to 24 hours.
  3. Step 3: Preheat the grill to medium heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and let it sit at room temperature.
  4. Step 4: Sprinkle the steak with pepper and grill until the internal temperature reaches around 140°F, flipping several times.
  5. Step 5: Let the steak rest for 10 minutes before slicing it against the grain and serving.
