Honey Sriracha Baked Chicken Wings

Ingredients

The chicken wings

  • 2 lbs. chicken (mixture of wings and drumettes)
  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

Honey Sriracha Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 6 tablespoons Sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Pat the chicken dry and place it in a large bowl.
  3. Drizzle with avocado oil and season with salt and pepper, then toss to coat.
  4. Place the chicken on a wire rack over a lined baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 40 minutes, flipping the chicken halfway through.
  6. Turn the broiler to HIGH and broil the chicken for 8-10 minutes until browned.
  7. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium-high heat.
  8. Add in ginger and garlic, stirring until fragrant.
  9. Stir in smoked paprika, ground cloves, honey, Sriracha, and lime juice, and let simmer for 4-5 minutes.
  10. Once the chicken is done, toss it in a large bowl with the honey Sriracha sauce to coat.
  11. Garnish with chopped chives before serving.
