Ingredients

The cookie dough

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter

  • 1 cup full-fat sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract

The decorations

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt, then set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until creamy, then add eggs, sour cream, and extracts, mixing until combined.
  3. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until the dough is thick and creamy, then chill for 1 hour.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and prepare baking sheets.
  5. Scoop the dough onto the sheets, spacing them apart, and bake for 13-14 minutes.
  6. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  7. Frost the cooled cookies with buttercream and add sprinkles as desired.
