Instructions
- Grease the slow cooker with cooking spray or butter.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Fold in the bread cubes and let the mixture rest for 5-10 minutes.
- Sprinkle the mixture with sugar and the remaining ½ teaspoon of cinnamon.
- Pour the mixture into the slow cooker, cover, and cook on HIGH for 2 hours or LOW for 4 hours until cooked through.
- For the berry sauce, heat a saucepan over medium heat, add berries and maple syrup, and cook for 7-8 minutes.
- Stir the berries, maintain a simmer, and cook for another 7 minutes.
- Mash the berries and cook uncovered for 15-20 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Stir in vanilla and a pinch of salt, then let cool before storing.
