Honey Sriracha Grilled Shrimp Skewers

Ingredients

The shrimp skewers

  • 1 lb. large shrimp, deveined and shells removed
  • 4–5 pieces wooden skewers

The glaze

  • 3 Tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 Tablespoon minced fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • 4 Tablespoons honey
  • 6 Tablespoons Sriracha
  • 1 Tablespoon lime juice

Optional garnishes

  • to taste lime wedges
  • to taste freshly chopped cilantro

Instructions

  1. Soak the wooden skewers for 20 minutes before grilling.
  2. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat, about 400°F.
  3. Melt butter in a small saucepan, then add minced ginger and garlic, stirring until fragrant.
  4. Add smoked paprika, ground cloves, honey, Sriracha, and lime juice to the saucepan and let simmer for 4-5 minutes.
  5. Thread the prepared shrimp onto the soaked wooden skewers.
  6. Grease the grill grates with cooking spray or olive oil.
  7. Grill the shrimp skewers for 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip and grill for another 4-5 minutes.
  8. Brush the honey sriracha glaze on both sides of the shrimp and grill each side for an additional minute.
  9. Remove the skewers from the grill and glaze again before garnishing with lime wedges and cilantro.
  10. Serve warm.
