Ingredients

The chicken

  • 1 ¼ pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs, beaten

The coating

  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • teaspoon baking powder

The sauce

  • ½ cup hot sauce (such as Frank's Red Hot)
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon honey

For frying and serving

  • oil as needed for frying
  • as needed serving ranch dressing and celery sticks

Instructions

  1. Soak the chicken pieces in buttermilk for 10 minutes.
  2. Prepare a bowl with beaten eggs.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and baking powder.
  4. Coat each chicken piece in the flour mixture, then dip in the egg, and coat again in the flour mixture.
  5. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F.
  6. Fry 4-5 nuggets at a time for 4-6 minutes until crispy and golden brown.
  7. Remove fried chicken and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk together hot sauce, melted butter, and honey.
  9. Toss the cooked nuggets in the buffalo sauce and serve immediately with ranch dressing and celery sticks.
