Crab Legs with Garlic Butter

Ingredients

The crab legs

  • 6 pounds crab legs (Dungeness, king, snow, or a combination)

The sauce

  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • optional lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Fill a large, deep pot with 3 inches of water and bring it to a boil.
  2. Crack the crab legs using a seafood cracker.
  3. Place the crab legs in the pot and cover it.
  4. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the crab is heated through. If using raw crab, cook for 10-12 minutes until the flesh is red and opaque.
  5. Drain the crab legs and cover them to keep warm.
  6. Melt the butter in the pot, add garlic, and cook for 30 seconds.
  7. Stir in salt, pepper, and parsley.
  8. Return the crab to the pot and toss to coat with the garlic butter.
  9. Serve immediately with lemon wedges if desired.
