Ingredients

Meatballs

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 whole egg
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh grated ginger
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Sauce

  • ½ cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp fresh grated ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

For topping and serving

  • to taste sesame seeds
  • to taste sliced green onion
  • to serve rice
  • to serve veggies

Instructions

  1. Mix together pork, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic, ginger, and salt in a bowl until well combined and form into about 16 meatballs.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil, and cook meatballs for 3-4 minutes on each side until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F.
  3. While the meatballs are cooking, whisk together all sauce ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat until bubbling, then simmer for 4-5 minutes over low heat.
  4. Toss the cooked meatballs in the sticky sauce.
  5. Serve on a plate with rice and veggies, topped with sesame seeds and green onion.
