Ingredients

  • 2 slices sliced white or sourdough bread
  • 1 ½ ounces cheese of your choice
  • 2-3 teaspoons butter

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet or griddle to medium heat (about 300 degrees if using an electric skillet).
  2. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place the cheese evenly on top of one un-buttered side, then top with another slice of bread, butter-side up.
  4. Carefully place each sandwich on the hot skillet.
  5. Cook until the cheese is starting to melt, the butter smells caramelized, and the bread is golden brown.
  6. Using a spatula, carefully flip the sandwich.
  7. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is completely melted.
  8. Cut each sandwich in half diagonally and serve.
