Ingredients

The oats

  • 1 ½ cups steel cut oats

The liquids

  • 3 cups water
  • 2 cups milk

The flavorings

  • 1 can pumpkin puree (15 ounces)
  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup
  • ¼ cup ground flaxseed meal
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt

For serving

  • to taste chopped toasted pecans
  • to taste dried cranberries
  • to taste chopped dried apricots
  • to taste chocolate chips
  • to taste peanut butter

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients except toppings in a slow cooker and stir well.
  2. Cover and cook on LOW for 7 hours or on HIGH for 3 ½ to 4 hours.
  3. Uncover and stir to combine, scraping the sides and bottom.
  4. Serve warm with desired toppings.
