Maple Cinnamon Applesauce

Instructions
- Prepare the apples by slicing, coring, and peeling them, placing them in lemon water to prevent browning.
- In a large pot, combine the prepared apples, maple syrup, cinnamon sticks, and water.
- Cover the pot and bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes until the apples are tender.
- Remove the cinnamon sticks and mash the apples to your desired consistency.
- Return the cinnamon sticks to the applesauce and simmer uncovered for an additional 5 minutes.
- If canning, process in a hot water bath for 20 minutes.
