Chocolate Peanut Butter Hot Cocoa

Ingredients

The cocoa mixture

  • 1 can full-fat coconut milk (14-15oz)
  • cup unsweetened almond milk
  • ½ cup cocoa powder, sifted
  • 2 tbsp all natural peanut butter
  • pinch kosher salt
  • 6 tbsp maple syrup (or agave)

Garnishes

  • to taste marshmallows (vegan)
  • to taste Turbinado sugar
  • to taste cacao nibs or chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Sift the cocoa powder to avoid clumps.
  2. Combine all ingredients in a pot and whisk thoroughly.
  3. Bring the mixture to a low boil, then simmer on low heat while whisking for several minutes.
  4. Pour into mugs rimmed with agave and Turbinado sugar.
  5. Top with marshmallows, chocolate chips, and/or cacao nibs before serving.
