Instructions
- Mix the egg, bread crumbs, parsley, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, thyme, ground beef, and ground sausage in a large bowl.
- Form 8 patties and set them aside.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet and brown the patties on both sides, then set them aside.
- Remove excess grease from the skillet, add butter, and cook the onions until tender.
- Place the patties in the slow cooker, add the cooked onions and sliced mushrooms on top.
- In a measuring cup, whisk together beef consommé, wine, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, and garlic, then pour over the patties.
- Cook on High for 3-4 hours or Low for 6-7 hours.
- To thicken the gravy, whisk together corn starch and cold water, stir into the gravy, and cook on High until thickened.
- Serve over mashed potatoes or rice.
