Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, pepper, salt, grated onion, and minced garlic until combined.
- Divide the mixture into 4-6 portions and lightly flatten each patty.
- Heat a lightly oiled skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties for about 2 minutes on each side until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add butter, onion, thyme, garlic, mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce, and Creole seasoning. Sauté for 6 minutes until tender.
- Stir in the flour and cook for about a minute, then add the beef broth and bring to a boil, thickening for about 2 minutes.
- Return the patties to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 8-10 minutes, adjusting thickness with more stock or water if needed.
