Instructions
- Mince about ½ cup of the onion and slice the remaining onion.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, minced onion, breadcrumbs, egg, 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well and shape into four oval patties.
- Heat cooking oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side until browned. Transfer to a plate.
- In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms and remaining sliced onion with a pinch of salt and pepper. Cook until softened.
- Add butter and flour to the skillet, stirring to form a paste and cook for about 2 minutes.
- Stir in beef broth and remaining Worcestershire sauce, bringing to a simmer to thicken into gravy.
- Return the patties to the skillet, spoon gravy over them, and simmer for an additional 5 minutes. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
