Instructions
- Slice the steak into thin strips against the grain, season with salt and pepper, and set aside.
- Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium heat, add mushrooms, onion, and garlic, and sauté until browned.
- Remove the mushroom mixture from the pan and set aside.
- Increase the heat slightly, melt the remaining butter, and add the beef, sautéing until no longer pink.
- While the beef cooks, whisk together the water, bouillon, flour, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
- Add the sauce mixture to the beef and return the mushroom mixture to the pan, simmering to thicken.
- Remove from heat and stir in sour cream, adjusting seasoning if necessary.
- Serve over egg noodles or rice.
