Teriyaki Beef Stir Fry

The sauce

tablespoon + 1 teaspoon
cornstarch
Instructions
- Prepare the sauce by combining soy sauce, water, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, honey, and sesame oil in a pot over medium-high heat until the sugar dissolves.
- Increase heat to high and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Mix cornstarch with cold water until dissolved, then add to the sauce and boil for 1-2 minutes until thickened. Set aside.
- Heat 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat and add the mixed vegetables, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook until they start to brown and soften.
- Add 2 tablespoons of water to the vegetables and cook until the water evaporates. Remove the vegetables from the pan and set aside.
- Wipe the pan clean and heat the remaining vegetable oil over high heat.
- Cook half of the steak in the pan, seasoning with salt and pepper, for 2-3 minutes on each side until just cooked through. Set aside and repeat with the remaining steak.
- Return all the meat and vegetables to the pan, pour the sauce over, and cook for 2-3 minutes until warmed through.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired.
