The teriyaki sauce

low-sodium soy sauce

water

pure maple syrup

rice vinegar

minced garlic

red pepper flakes (plus additional to taste)

Instructions
- Marinate the beef with soy sauce and black pepper, then set aside.
- Prepare the teriyaki sauce by mixing soy sauce, water, maple syrup, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, red pepper flakes, and cornstarch.
- In a hot pan, cook the beef until browned and fully cooked, then set aside.
- Sauté the bell pepper and mixed vegetables until slightly softened.
- Add water chestnuts and return the beef to the pan, then pour in the teriyaki sauce and simmer to thicken.
- Stir in half of the green onions, then serve topped with sesame seeds and remaining green onions.
