Ingredients

The meatloaf

  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • ¾ cup skim milk
  • cup plain bread crumbs
  • 1 oz packet dry onion soup mix
  • ½ teaspoon dried rubbed sage
  • 1 lb raw 95% lean ground beef
  • 1 lb raw 99% lean ground turkey breast

The topping

  • cup ketchup

Instructions

  1. 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the eggs, milk, bread crumbs, onion soup mix, and sage until well mixed.
  2. 2. Add the ground beef and ground turkey, mixing thoroughly by hand.
  3. 3. Form the meat mixture into a loaf that fits in the slow cooker.
  4. 4. Optionally, place a strip of aluminum foil in the slow cooker for easy removal.
  5. 5. Place the meatloaf in the slow cooker and cover it.
  6. 6. Cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours until fully cooked.
  7. 7. Remove the meatloaf, spread ketchup on top, and slice into 12 even slices.
