Ingredients

The meatloaf

  • pounds 85% lean ground beef
  • 1 cup minced yellow onion
  • 1 15 ounce can crushed tomatoes
  • ½ cup old-fashioned oats
  • cup powdered milk
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

The glaze

  • cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, onion, tomatoes, oats, powdered milk, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper using your hands.
  3. Mold the meat mixture into a 9 x 5-inch loaf on a rimmed baking sheet.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the ketchup, brown sugar, and red wine vinegar to create the glaze.
  5. Spread the glaze over the top of the meatloaf.
  6. Bake for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  7. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
