Ingredients

The filling

  • 1 lb shaved steak or ground beef or ground turkey
  • 3 pieces bell peppers, sliced
  • 1 piece yellow onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-2 tsp oil
  • 1 pinch salt
  • to taste black pepper

The sauce and topping

  • 3 tbsp cream cheese
  • 6-8 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  2. In a large skillet, heat oil on medium-high heat and add the shaved steak, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  3. Once the steak is mostly browned, add the sliced peppers, onions, and minced garlic, cooking for 5-6 minutes until the vegetables are soft.
  4. Stir in the cream cheese until well combined with the meat and vegetables.
  5. Top the mixture with slices of provolone cheese.
  6. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 5-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
