Dark Chocolate Covered Pretzel Rods

Ingredients

The pretzel rods

  • 16 pieces large pretzel rods

The chocolate coating

  • 1 12-ounce bag dark chocolate chips
  • to taste crushed candy canes

Instructions

  1. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate chips in a bowl using a microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
  3. Check the temperature of the chocolate; it should be around 90°F.
  4. Dip each pretzel rod into the chocolate, covering two-thirds of it, and allow excess chocolate to drip off.
  5. Sprinkle crushed candy canes over the chocolate-covered pretzels.
  6. Let the chocolate set until completely firm, then store in an airtight container until ready to serve.
  7. For presentation, serve in a tall glass or vase.
