Ingredients

  • cups all purpose flour
  • teaspoons instant yeast
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt
  • 2 cups very warm water
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup, agave or granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Whisk the dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
  2. Create a well in the center and add the warm water, maple syrup, and oil.
  3. Stir until the dough is shaggy and mixed together.
  4. Grease the bowl and cover it with plastic wrap or a towel, letting it rise for 2 to 3 hours.
  5. Preheat the Dutch oven in the oven at 450°F for 30-40 minutes before baking.
  6. Flour a surface and pour the risen dough onto it, folding it over itself a few times.
  7. Shape the dough into a circle and place it on parchment paper.
  8. Carefully place the dough into the preheated Dutch oven and cover it.
  9. Bake for 45 minutes, then remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes.
  10. Let the bread cool before slicing and serving.
