No-Knead Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour or bread flour
  • 2 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 2/3 cups warm water
  • as needed tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, add the flour and make a well in the center.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and salt, then whisk to combine.
  3. Pour the water-yeast mixture into the well of the flour.
  4. Stir with a wooden spoon until it forms a dough.
  5. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes until smooth.
  6. Form the dough into a round and place it in a lightly oiled bowl, dusting the top with flour.
  7. Cover with plastic wrap and a cloth, and let it rise at room temperature for 18 to 24 hours.
  8. Preheat the oven to 450°F.
  9. Remove the dough from the bowl and place it on a floured counter.
  10. Shape the dough into a ball and place it on parchment paper.
  11. Dust with flour and cover with a cloth.
  12. Once the oven is ready, place the Dutch oven inside for 20 to 30 minutes.
  13. Carefully place the dough into the hot Dutch oven, cover, and bake for 30 minutes.
  14. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes until golden.
