Ingredients

  • 3 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
  • teaspoons salt
  • ¼ teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1⅝ cups water

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, salt, and yeast in a bowl.
  2. Add water and stir until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit for 18-24 hours at room temperature.
  4. After the dough has risen, turn it out onto a floured surface and shape it into a round loaf.
  5. Let the loaf rest for about 2 hours.
  6. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and place a Dutch oven inside to heat.
  7. Carefully place the dough into the hot Dutch oven, cover, and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.
