Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • ½ tsp active dry yeast

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and yeast.
  2. Pour in warm water and stir until a shaggy ball forms.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rise for 12 to 18 hours.
  4. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit and place a cast iron pot inside to heat for 30 minutes.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and shape it into a ball.
  6. Cover the dough with a large bowl and let it rest while the pot heats.
  7. Carefully drop the dough into the hot pot, cover with a lid, and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the lid and bake uncovered for an additional 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let the bread cool before slicing.
