Savory Slow Cooker Oatmeal

Instructions
- Combine the oats, diced squash, tomatoes, butter or oil, flaxseed, garlic, seasonings, milk, broth, and Parmesan in the slow cooker and mix well.
- Set the slow cooker to high for 3 hours or low for 5 hours, stirring occasionally.
- If the oatmeal thickens, add more milk or water as needed during the last hour of cooking.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking tray with foil.
- Place the bacon strips and sliced onion on the tray and bake for 15 minutes or until crispy.
- Reserve some bacon grease and stir it into the oatmeal before serving.
- Serve the oatmeal in bowls and add your desired toppings.
