Strawberry Buttercream Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1 cup freeze-dried strawberries
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 4 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • ¼ cup heavy cream or whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • to taste none salt

Instructions

  1. Grind the freeze-dried strawberries into a powder using a food processor or blender.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
  3. Add the confectioners’ sugar, strawberry powder, heavy cream or milk, and vanilla to the bowl.
  4. Mix on low speed for 30 seconds, then increase to high speed and beat for 2 minutes.
  5. Adjust the consistency with more cream or milk if needed, and add a pinch of salt to taste.
  6. Use the frosting immediately or store it in the refrigerator for up to a week.
