Instructions
- Cream the softened butter on medium-high speed until fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Reduce mixer speed to low and add 4 cups of powdered sugar, cream, vanilla, and salt (if using).
- Continue mixing until smooth, about 2 to 3 minutes.
- If the frosting is too soft, add more powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons at a time.
- Cover and refrigerate the frosting until ready for use.
