Instructions
- 1. Mix the ground pork, ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, salt, eggs, garlic, and parsley in a bowl and form into 2-inch balls.
- 2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and brown the meatballs for about 10 minutes.
- 3. Remove the meatballs and reduce heat to medium. Cook the onion and red-pepper flakes until the onion is tender.
- 4. Add the pureed tomatoes and basil, simmer until the sauce thickens, then return the meatballs to the pan.
- 5. Simmer until the meatballs are cooked through.
- 6. Preheat the broiler, arrange mozzarella on top of the meatballs, and broil until melted, about 2 minutes.
- 7. Serve immediately.
