The baking dish

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Butter the baking dish and set it aside.
- In a skillet, combine cherries, kirsch, and sugar. Cook over low heat for 5 minutes, then transfer to the baking dish.
- Prepare the almond cream by mixing almonds and butter until smooth, then add eggs, cream, and confectioners' sugar, whisking until thick and smooth. Mix in kirsch and almond extract.
- Pour the almond cream over the cherries in the baking dish.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until firm and golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.
- Dust with confectioners' sugar and serve warm or at room temperature.
