Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and whisk in the flour.
- Cook the flour mixture for 1 minute while whisking occasionally.
- Add chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, oregano, smoked paprika, sugar, and salt to the pan and whisk to combine.
- Cook for another minute while whisking constantly.
- Gradually whisk in the chicken broth until smooth, then add the tomato sauce and stir.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
