Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a saucepan over medium heat and mix in all-purpose flour.
- Lower the heat and cook the flour/oil mixture for a few minutes to create a roux.
- Add tomato sauce, chicken broth, spices, and brown sugar to the saucepan and whisk together.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and bring the mixture to a light boil.
- Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook the sauce for 10 minutes.
- Allow the sauce to cool and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
