Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 can (8-ounce) tomato sauce
  • cups vegetable broth

Instructions

  1. Heat the avocado oil in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the flour and whisk for 1 minute.
  3. Add the chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and oregano, whisking for another minute.
  4. Slowly add the tomato sauce and vegetable broth, whisking continuously until smooth.
  5. Simmer for 12 minutes, or until thickened, noting that it will thicken more as it cools.
