Enchilada Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp Olive oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • ½ cup Chicken broth (reduced sodium)
  • 15 oz Tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp Chili powder
  • 2 tsp Dried oregano
  • 2 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • ½ tsp Sea salt (to taste)
  • ¼ tsp Black pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  2. Add all remaining ingredients to the pan and stir together.
  3. Bring the mixture to a simmer, cover, and reduce heat to maintain bubbles.
  4. Simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens to your liking.
  5. Adjust sea salt and black pepper to taste if needed.
