Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil or olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • 4 tablespoons no-salt-added tomato paste
  • 2 cups low-sodium vegetable broth

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a medium nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add spices and whisk until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Stir in tomato paste and whisk together.
  4. Slowly pour in vegetable broth while whisking until the mixture is smooth.
  5. Increase heat to medium-high and cook until bubbles start to surface, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and use immediately or store in a covered container.
