Ingredients

The batter

  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

For baking

  • 3 tablespoons butter

Toppings

  • to taste fresh fruit
  • to taste whipped cream
  • to taste powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F.
  2. Beat the eggs and whisk in the milk until smooth.
  3. Add flour, sugar, and salt to the egg mixture and whisk until there are no lumps.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract and set the mixture aside.
  5. Melt butter in a skillet in the oven, swirling to coat the pan.
  6. Pour the batter into the buttered skillet and bake for about 15 minutes until the edges are golden.
  7. Remove from the oven and serve topped with fresh fruit, whipped cream, or powdered sugar.
