Homemade Butter Cookies

Instructions
- Prepare the refrigerator for chilling the shaped cookies.
- Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
- Beat the butter and sugar together until smooth, then add egg and extracts, mixing well.
- Gradually mix in flour and salt, then add milk until the dough is creamy and pipe-able.
- Fill a piping bag with the dough and pipe swirls or lines on the prepared sheets.
- Chill the piped cookies in the refrigerator for 20–30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C).
- Bake the cookies for 12–15 minutes until lightly browned on the edges.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Optional: Melt chocolate and dip cooled cookies, adding sprinkles if desired.
