Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Brown the butter in a light-colored skillet over medium heat until it turns a light amber color and has a nutty aroma, then chill until solid.
  2. Beat the chilled brown butter in a mixing bowl until smooth, then add granulated and brown sugars, mixing until light and fluffy.
  3. Incorporate the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt, then gradually mix into the wet ingredients.
  5. Add milk and chocolate chips, mixing until combined, then cover and chill the dough for at least 2-3 hours.
  6. Preheat the oven and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  7. Scoop and roll the chilled dough into balls and bake until golden brown around the edges.
  8. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
