Ingredients

The gravy base

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup milk
  • ½ cup chicken broth or water

Seasoning

  • teaspoon garlic powder
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a medium skillet over medium heat.
  2. Whisk in flour and cook until it starts to turn golden.
  3. Add milk and chicken broth or water, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.
  4. Cook until the mixture thickens, about 3 to 6 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and whisk in garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve over mashed potatoes, biscuits, or meat.
