Ingredients

The smoothie

  • ¼ avocado ripe avocado
  • 2 medium ripe bananas (previously sliced and frozen)
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen mixed berries
  • 2 large handfuls spinach
  • 1 small handful kale
  • 1½ – 2 cups unsweetened non-dairy milk
  • 1 Tbsp flaxseed meal
  • 2 Tbsp salted creamy almond or peanut butter (optional)

Toppings (optional)

  • to taste roasted unsalted sunflower seeds
  • to taste granola
  • to taste raw or roasted nuts (almonds, pecans, walnuts, etc.)
  • to taste shredded unsweetened coconut
  • to taste fresh berries
  • to taste hemp seeds

Instructions

  1. Blend all smoothie ingredients until creamy and smooth, adding more almond milk or water if necessary.
  2. Taste and adjust sweetness or color as needed by adding more banana or spinach.
  3. Divide the smoothie into bowls and add desired toppings.
  4. Best when fresh, but leftovers can be stored in jars in the fridge for up to 1-2 days.
