Ingredients

The coating

  • ¾ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ¾ teaspoon garlic powder
  • a pinch black pepper
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce

The pickles

  • 1 16 oz jar hamburger dill pickle chips

Instructions

  1. Toast the panko breadcrumbs in a dry skillet over medium heat until golden.
  2. Mix the flour, chili powder, garlic powder, and black pepper in a shallow dish.
  3. Whisk the egg whites and hot sauce together in another shallow dish.
  4. Prepare a baking sheet with an oven-safe cooling rack and mist it with cooking spray.
  5. Pat the pickles dry and set up an assembly line to coat them in the flour mixture, egg wash, and panko crumbs.
  6. Arrange the coated pickles in a single layer on the cooling rack and mist them lightly with cooking spray.
  7. Broil the pickles in the oven for 4 minutes, then flip them and broil for an additional 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
