Ingredients

The tofu

  • 14 ounce extra firm tofu

The seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon low-sodium tamari
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Drain the tofu and slice it into thirds lengthwise, then cut into columns and rows to create bite-sized pieces.
  3. Press the tofu between towels with a heavy object for 15-30 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  4. In a bowl, mix tamari, avocado oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder, then toss the tofu in the mixture until coated.
  5. Sprinkle cornstarch over the tofu and toss gently.
  6. Spread the tofu on the baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  7. Serve as desired and enjoy!
